Public School Uniforms
So many public schools in the US are requiring certain uniforms for their students, especially here in Mobile County where I went to school. I have always worn uniforms and there are so many pros in having to wear them. So many students in school used to get judged for the clothes they could afford and couldn't afford and having uniforms is a great way to have a judge free environment. It also is a policy that looks so much better. You dont have people coming to school wearing inappropriate clothing. And if they do then they could be sent home or penalized. It never hurt anyone to tuck a shirt in or pull their pants up to their waist.
Study Hall
I believe that study hall is a very necessary thing for a college to have for athletes. It is a great way to monitor what grades and how much effort athletes are putting in because without the academics they can't play. The NCAA has great rules and regulations for all athletes who participate in NCAA programs. If those rules and regulations are not met then teh student-athlete will not be allowed to participate in any activities involving their particular sport. This is a great example of how much priortity the NCAA puts on the academic side of athletics.
Family
Family is the most important thing to me. Without them I would have nothing that I do. I come from a family of four with three brothers and I am the oldest. I keep in close contact with all of them and without that contact I would be lost. No matter what happens in life or in school or on the ball field I know that they were there before all of that and will be there after. I am blessed enough to have all four grandparents still living and healthy and it is really like having six parents. I have seven first cousins that I am pretty close to also. They will always be there no matter what.
About Me!
My name is Meghan Harbuck. I live in Jackson, AL, although I graduated from Baker High School in Mobile, AL. I play softball for the University of South Alabama. I am a sophomore. My freshman year of college I played softball at the University of Southern Miss and I am a transfer back to the great state of Alabama. In high school I was blessed enough to win three state championships along side many great players whom are playing in college today. I am a secondary education major and plan to coach high school softball.
